Skid Fabrication
Skids come in many shapes and sizes. FabWorks builds everything from small, dedicated pump skids to 20,000lb field skids.
Skid Deck Types
- Open Deck: Smaller skids may be built with an open web design if they are not built to be walked on.
- Solid Deck: Skid is usually covered with diamond plate or a similar solid surface
- Grating Deck: This type of skid is covered in a high traction, slip proof metal grating.
- Fluids Capture Deck: This type of deck has a built in catch basin under the grating to capture any fluid spills to avoid environmental issues. Drains can be built into the skid design to allow captured fluids to be easily disposed of.
Skid Transport Options
- Forklift: Forklift tubes can be built into any skid to accommodate various forklift sizes.
- Crane: Crane lift eyes can be built into the skid perimeter to facilitate loading with an onsite crane.
- Winch Truck: Angled noses can be built into the front and back of a skid with heavy duty D ring mounts to facilitate loading and unloading with a winch truck
